Little Things

Have you ever prayed, just asking God to help you find something? Yesterday, I experienced an answer to prayer, right away!

I was looking for my book. I was searching the whole afternoon, and I couldn't find it anywhere! I asked everyone and they could not find it. I was so frustrated that I couldn't find my book, I was halfway through and in the mood for reading. I tried to think when last I had read it, but still I couldn't find it.

Then, late last night, before my quiet reading time, I prayed: "Dear God, please help me to find my book?" Suddenly, something told me to look in my school drawer. My first reaction was: "It wouldn't be in there!" Anyhow I looked, and under my file, there it was! Such a simple little prayer was answered.

I was encouraged to try again.

I couldn't find the pouch for my camera. Rebekah loves to suck it while I take pictures, and I had last left it with her.

That night, while I was in bed, I prayed again: "Please, Lord, help me to find my camera case?"

Would you believe it? My dad found it for me the next morning!

I am now very encouraged to pray and believe that God will answer.

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

Matthew 21:22

I encourage you to also pray, whenever you need something or cannot find something. The Lord does answer prayers, He proved it to me!

Blessings,
Kelly-Anne

Another Wonderful Week #3

Hello all my web friends!!! How are you all doing? We are all well here in Fish Hoek and we have some VERY exciting news, but you'll have to wait till the end of this post before you can see!

We did lots of school! Nancy doing Math-U-See.

Beth too, she is learning to write numbers!

While Gabrielle played with linseed!

Rebekah clapped hands!

We swam

And swam...

And swam!

I made this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge card. It was fun!

Rebekah munched a chocolate biscuit and got it everywhere - on me, on herself, the bench....Phew, did she make a mess!

We went to Noordhoek Garden Emporium and played on the jungle gym.

Rebeakh on the swing.

And looked through the window. She is so cute!

And Nancy scared me silly balancing on the edges....aaargh!

And now for the most special event that happened this week......

Candy Cupcake (guinea pig) had her babies - three of them!

Read more about them here.

So, now you know what we have been up to and the very exciting news!!!

Have a good week ahead!!

Blessings,
Kelly-Anne

The Baby Guinea Pigs Have Arrived And Great Excitement!

This afternoon, Candy Cupcake, our biggest female guinea pig had her babies - three of them!

She was very touchy and aggressive this morning, and would run away before we could touch her. My mom said that she should have the babies soon! We were very excited!

Candy is mine/Gabrielle's. But of course I look after her. She really trusts me now, she even allowed me to touch her this morning. I have a special call for her, I use it when I feed her, as I do with the others.

Look at her, so big. We took this the other day because we couldn't hold her since yesterday. When I did hold her, a few days ago, I could feel the babies kicking and estimated there were three, and....read on to find out!

This afternoon I went to check on her. Nothing. Then I lifted the lid of the hutch later, say about 20 minutes later and..... three wet, bloody, scraggly little things were lying there! I shouted, not meaning to scare Candy, to my mom and dad to come and look!

There is only one picture of them because Candy needed some peace!

I will post more pictures soon! All I can tell you is that the babies are cute, they are suckling, there are three of them, and oh, I love them!

Friday Sketchers Challenge

This is my 3rd Friday Sketchers Challenge card. I really enjoyed making this card, it was defiantly 1 of the best I have made so far!

I made it for a friend.

I made a flower out of lots of daises, which I punched out of my puncher, then I put them all together with a brad.

I got my mom to write 'FRIENDS' on the little oval. I then put lace over the middle of the card to add some decoration.

I decided not to cut around the stamp, but to rather cut it into a rectangle. I coloured in the stamp with the watercolour pencils my mom and dad gave me for Christmas 2009 and glittered the ribbons, flowers, shoes and part of the dress.

What fun I had!

Hope you are having an awesome weekend!!

Blessings,
Kelly-Anne

Another Wonderful Week #2

Hello there! I guess it has been a while since I last posted 'Another Wonderful Week' post? It has been very busy this week, and I am sure you are going to like all the photos!!

Beth and Gabrielle made paper-dolls.

Nancy read and read and read and read and read! She couldn't stop telling us about the books she's read!

I found a beautiful gecko and photographed him, though it could have been a her!

Then Gabrielle decided to read too! Or should I say 'read' at the pictures.

Nancy
and I took Rebekah for a ride on the wagon.

Gabrielle and I made Farmhouse Cake.

Beth jumped on the trampoline.

And jumped some more.

Gabrielle and Nancy made dog pellets. I will share the recipe sometime soon.

Beth had a goodnight sleep with all her teddies. She does this every night!

Beth and Nancy helped me to move Toffee, my Guinea Pig out of Candy Cupcake's cage, because she is about to pop! She should have her baby Guinea Pigs in the next week or so. Today, i felt them kick in her tummy!

Gabrielle fed Fudge, Beth's Guinea Pig lettuce.

Then I went to horse riding and rode Flashy Lady.

Looking back over the week, we got a lot achieved. We also had fun!

How was your week! I hope it was good!

Blessings,
Kelly-Anne

Baking A Farmhouse Cake With Gabrielle

Tuesday, Gabrielle and I made Farmhouse Cake. It was such a special time with Gabrielle, and I could tell she was really enjoying helping, and it was all worth it when I saw the look on her face when we ate it!

I would really like to share the recipe with you, as well as the photos I took of Gabrielle before and after the cake!

FARMHOUSE CAKE

125g butter
125ml sugar
2 extra large eggs
560ml cake flour
1ml salt
10ml baking powder
3ml bicarbonate of soda
250ml fruit cake mix
250ml sour milk
125ml milk

TIP: if no sour milk, then substitute with 220ml milk and 30ml lemon juice or vinegar.

Beat butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.

Sift dry ingredients and add to egg mix.

Add fruit.

Whisk sour milk and milk together and mix well into dry mix.
Spoon into a well-greased loaf tin and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 55-60 minutes. Cool off slightly before turning onto a wire rack.

Then lick your spoon! It is the Little Ones favourite thing to do after we bake!

Makes 1 loaf

We cut the cake into slices and buttered them. We had the cake with tea. Gabrielle was very happy with 'her' cake. When my mom and sisters told me how nicely I made the cake, Gabrielle piped up: "I helped too!"

It was a blessed time with Gabrielle. She felt grown-up that she was helping her big sister! I really encourage you to let your younger sibling help you. It is worth the time and trouble, trust me!

Gabrielle's smile was my reward! (the cake too, of course!)

I hope your week has been wonderful!

Blessings,
Kelly-Anne

Celebrating My Mom's Birthday

It was my Mom's birthday on Sunday!!

In the morning, I went outside to finish writing in the card I made my mom. I also used this card for Friday Sketchers Challenge. We all (of course not my dad!) paraded into my Mom's room with this card. Then we all went out and then paraded in again with a card from a different child. And so on!!

We had a quiet, peaceful morning at home.

In the afternoon, we decided to go to the beach. We packed the boogie boards into the back of the bakkie and set off. I didn't put my costume on, because I wasn't going to swim. There was a shark attack at Fish Hoek beach the other day, so I was nervous. I would take pictures of my sisters, from the shore.

When we got to the beach, the black flag was up. The black flag means that the shark spotters cannot see very well into the water. So they cannot see if there is a shark or not. It was also spring high, and it was blowing a gale. Not very pleasant. We decided then to go to Silvermine Dam.

So off we went over Ou Kaapse Weg, to Silvermine Dam. I had my doubts, but I didn't want to express them, as this wasn't my day.

The beautiful Silvermine Dam

Well, we had the best, most amazing, super duper, wonderful, lovely, great and fun afternoon!!! Whooo-hooo! Even I swam in the dam, clothes and all!!

Rebekah sitting on Daddy's lap

Gabrielle playing in the shallow waters.

I had to just take this photo!!!

Nancy and Daddy swimming in the 'deep waters'.

My mom helped Rebekah splash in ankle deep waters.

And here are some pictures of my sisters:

Rebekah

Gabrielle

Beth

Nancy

I took pictures of my family from the shore.

Gabrielle and Rebekah gave each other hugs!

Aren't they cute?

Then we took the walk back to the car! Gabrielle looks very tired in this picture!

We want to go to Silvermine Dam again soon! We had such a lovely time, and we didn't want to leave!!!

When we got home, we ate some milk tart that my mom had made. She was quite happy, because this was the first milk tart, that wasn't runny!

Hmmmmm, very nice....!

Beth thought the milk tart was sooooo yummy! Look at the face!

And here is a picture of our dearest mommy. She is wonderful!!! She manages anything and everything! Nothing is too much trouble for her. She home schools us all. We are very blessed to have her as OUR Mommy!!

"Thank you, Mommy, you are the best, and I love you soooooooo much! Thank you for correcting each of my blog posts and thank you for encouraging me in everything I do!"

"Happy Birthday, Mommy!" from all your girls!
