Love You Always ~ Vintage Wedding Card

I have been an avid paper crafter for many years – there is something quite thrilling about taking a simple piece of patterned paper and turning it into a masterpiece which will at some stage bless someone...
When I was a bit younger I used to participate in a weekly card making challenge, but as life became busier, I had to lay aside those hours of pleasure and trade them for something else...  Fortunately I really enjoy my work – I am blessed to do something both creative and enjoyable...
But how I love making those beautiful cards that take more than just a few minutes to put together!  I love designing, cutting, pasting, and decorating – the whole process is pure bliss...
...This is my most recent paper creation and I am delighted to link up with a few card making challenges like I used to do in my first few years of blogging...  What memories it brings back!

A Beautifully Unique Valentine's Card Challenge...

Hello friends!  I must tell you about a beautiful card challenge a sweet blogging friend of mine is hosting on her blog, Uniquely Fashioned for His Glory...

Moriah has a heart for orphan children, especially those from Uganda, Africa.

You can read more about her love for the orphans of Uganda and her travels to this country on her blog, but let me tell you more about her challenge first...

Moriah is hosting a Valentines card challenge – she needs 1400 cards by February 14th for the children of Uganda...

This is what she wrote on her blog...

“…While I was there last spring, the most meaningful thing was to see how much a card can touch a life…”

“I brought bright, colorful cards to the prisons/orphanages telling of the love of Jesus.  The smiles that lit the children's faces were bright enough to warm me to my very core.  It made me smile too...”

May I ask you to consider participating in her card challenge?  I know she would be blessed and more importantly, the children would be blessed...  And the Bible tells us that it is more blessed to give than to receive and I can truly testify to this...

Please visit Moriah’s blog for more details on how to participate here!    Let us spread the wonderful love of the Lord this Valentine’s day instead of placing our value on the things of this world!

May you be blessed today!

Vintage Gift Tag

Hello everyone!  I’m back with another paper creation...  I made this pretty gift tag for my music teacher to go with her end of term gift.

Cards and gift tags made with vintage scrapbook paper are just gorgeous.  I love to tear, distress or chalk my cards to make them look more old fashioned.

For this gift tag, I cross stitched a little heart motif as the ‘image’.  Cross stitch is quite vintage looking and the paper I used gave the card a beautiful timeless appeal.  The small brown button just adds a 3-D effect and finishes it off.  I just love how it turned out…

I would like to take part in the following card making challenges…  It is lovely to revisit certain challenge blogs and see how they’ve changed and grown over time!  It brings back such happy memories to leave my name in the subject line again…

~ Just for You ~

I can’t even recall the last time I posted a card on my blog, much less entered one in a challenge!  Lately I have been feeling the effects of not paper crafting, so I decided it was high time to do something about it and make a few cards.

A few years ago I made a jewellery card for someone from the design featured in Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine (Issue 76).  I thought of giving the design a go again, using my lace earrings as the jewellery to slot into the eyelets...

I used plenty of teal as well as some pink on this card.  I just love the combination!  I also added quite a few pearls as a border and to add a feminine touch to the sentiment ‘Just for You’.  The lace earrings (instructions to make them here) worked so beautifully and I’m sure they will delight the recipient!

I have entered the following card making challenges with my card...

Through the Craft Room Door Challenge - Anything Goes
Lady Anne's Challenges - Anything Goes
Pollycraft Challenge - Anything Goes

Pretty Purples Card with Tags

I had a delightful time putting together  this ‘pretty purples’ card for a lovely friend of ours who had a birthday last week

It really has been months since I last posted a card, although I have been making the odd one here and there.  The problem I have is just this...so many things I want/have to do, so little time to do them...I think I just have way too many hobbies!!

Here is the layout I used for my card – I designed the sketch myself on PowerPoint.

I had some simple but gorgeous purple paper left over from a card I made Rebekah for her birthday...I thought would work nicely for my design.

I added three tags to my card as well as plenty of ribbon.

I used four large pearls in each corner of the card and four tiny ones for around the stamped image.

The image I used is from Whiff of Joy – isn’t it too adorable?  I used brown distress ink to add some contrast to all the purple.

Finally I added a big white flower to the tags.

I would like to take part in the following challenges with my creation:

Divas by Design - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - All things Girlie

I hope you like my card – I shall to back soon with another one!

Mom and Dad’s 18th Anniversary Card and Some Photos

My mom and dad celebrated 18 years of marriage on Sunday the 8th.  I decided to make them a beautiful wedding anniversary card for their special day, along with a few other things which I hope to share with you very soon!

I used a lovely wedding stamp which my sweet friend gave to me, along with lots of paper roses and pretty paper! I so enjoyed putting this card together and I would like to enter the following challenges with it:

Anything Goes Challenge for 'Anything Goes', Tip Top Tuesday for 'Anything Goes' and Bearly Mine Challenge, also for 'Anything Goes'

We got done very quickly on Sunday so we could go for a picnic at Jubilee Creek. Being in the middle of the very hot season, we went early to secure a shady spot near the water and Mom packed a delicious lunch the night before.

Beth and Gabrielle splashing in the creek.

Nancy baked yummy chocolate and vanilla  cookies for tea time.

This is beautiful Jubilee Creek where we enjoyed Mom and Dad’s special day.

Sofia who is three months today!!  Isn’t she so cute?

...And Rebekah.

I’m so proud of you, Mom and Dad!  Love you lots!

Another Birthday Card

Hello everyone! I have another card to show you this week, this time one for a young girl who celebrated her birthday last week!

This is my first monochrome card – I love the vintage paper and the beautiful shades of – yes, pink! (My favourite colour!)

I used one medium flower and two small flowers for the right hand corner.  I glued a pearl in the middle of each one as well.

This is one of my favourite stamps!  It is too cute!  I also used three small pearls for the top left hand corner.

The sentiment says ‘Happy Birthday’ in fancy writing!  I used two pieces of pretty ribbon folded in half which I pasted underneath the middle rectangle.  I also used a small pearl for the bottom right hand corner.

I would also like to enter the following challenges with my card:

Digi Doodle Shops Best - Anything Goes
Pixie Dust Studio - Monochrome using your favourite colour
StampInsanity - Use Your Favourite Colour
Amber's Crafts and Stuff - Patterned Paper

Hope you like my card, have a wonderful weekend!

A Birthday Gift Bag for Beth

Hello everyone, today I have another creation to show you! I made a gift bag for Beth’s birthday gifts I gave to her on Friday! I haven’t ever made a gift bag before, so I took apart an old one and copied the measurements and the folds!

So here is my gift bag:

I just love these papers and colours – they are so summery and bright

I decorated the back of the bag as well by printing out a letter to her on beautiful paper.  I added a piece of ribbon to the side to finish it off.

I put two rectangles on the sides of the bag and added a flower and a pearl to the bottom. I made the straps out of the same ribbon I used on the front of bag.

I love this stamp – Beth loves horses and riding so I thought it would work perfectly on her gift bag!  I coloured the bridle, reins and the numnah with pink to make it more girly!

This butterfly my mother gave to me. She used it on her birthday tin vases but after she was done with it, she thought I could use it on my cards! I love the colour and the gems!

I would also like to take part in the following challenges with my gift bag:

Southern Girls - Happy Birthday
Craft us Crazy - Anything Goes
Stampin for the Weekend - Anything with Four Legs
Paper Cutz - Anything Goes
Fairy Tale - Summer, Sun, Sunshine

This is my beautiful seven year old sister, Beth. She is such a wonderful little girl and I love her so much!

I hope you like my gift bag!

Blessings,

A Special Birthday Gift Box

Hello everyone! Today I'd like to show you a special birthday gift box I made for a very dear friend of mine!

I found this gift box tutorial on her blog, Heidi’s Crafts. I am very happy with how it turned out and I just love the colours.

I love this vintage pink paper! A few of Heidi’s favourite things are: Ribbon, lace, pearls, pins, flowers, glitter and light pink with maroon...she also likes bows! I tried to include everything on her present! We have very similar tastes when it comes to our favourite paper craft things!

Here are a few pictures of the other sides of my box without the packages inside:

I used a Whiff of Joy stamp on one side of the box.  I also decorated the remaining space with some small and medium flowers and pearls.

I used dotty pink ribbon and a few more flowers for the second side.  I also stuck two heart pins into the flowers, which I think looks so pretty!

The third side has the sentiment which says ‘You are so special’.  The tiny pearls are an added extra to the sentiment.

The last side is decorated with pink pearls which I laid out to create a swirl.  I also used a piece of big, white lace and pink ribbon on top.  To finish is off, I stuck two small pink flowers on the right-hand corner.

For the present, I made four packages up of some delicious goodies! The first one contains three Lindt chocolate balls; the second assorted pink buttons; the third contains half a metre of different ribbons and the fourth six different coloured butterflies.

I also made a little card to put with the box.  Since I couldn’t be with Heidi on her birthday, because we live so far away from each other, I wrote a little prayer inside especially for her!

I would also like to take part in the following challenges with my gift box:

Lollipop Crafts - Anything Goes
Sparkles Forum - Elegant and Lace
Bling it on - Anything Goes
Emerald Faerie Challenge - All Things Girly
I hope you like my gift box!

A Wedding Card

Hello everyone! Today I’d like to show you a card I made for my grandmother and her fiancée who are getting married on Friday! Since this is both their second marriage, I made a blue and brown congratulations card instead of white!

So here is my card:

I just love these papers and colours!

This is a Sugar Nellie stamp and it is so sweet and fits in so well with the papers and the theme of this card.

I threaded dotty blue organza ribbon through a silver heart charm.  I think the two hearts linked together is perfect on a wedding card!

My mom helped me with the sentiment which says ‘congrats’. She used special scissors to make the scalloped edges. I also used six silver gems which adds some necessary ‘bling’ to my card!

I would also like to enter the following challenges:

Kaboodle Doodles - Use those Scissors
Stamp 'N Doodle - Love/Romance
Take a Word - Wedding
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes
Deep Ocean Challenge - Cards
Creative Inspirations Paint - Wedding Inspired

I hope you like my card!

Have a blessed day,
Kelly-Anne
