Autumn~ness

Autumn, that season of peculiar and inexhaustible influences on the mind of taste and tenderness, that season which has drawn from every poet, worthy of being read, some attempt at description, or some lines of feeling.  She occupied her mind as much as possible in such like musings and quotations…”

~ Jane Austen

Autumn has well and truly arrived in our lovely part of the world and my heart swells with joy as I ponder the pleasures of this wonderful season…

....Beautiful crinkly brown and gold hues of the leaves that grace the trees are a happy part of Autumn…don't you think...?

Autumn is a season for cinnamon and spices, for gathering firewood and pinecones to see us through the chilly winter…

...A season for the orange and brown pumpkins that grace the stores and for baking bliss...

A cup of steaming coffee always tastes richer and more comforting in the autumn…especially if honey and cinnamon are added…

Autumn is a time for watching to see when the first oranges and lemons appear on the trees,
and a season for preserving its tangy goodness in jars of beautiful marmalade

Letters are lovely in the autumn…somehow the imagination comes alive with the arrival of cooler weather…what could be pleasanter than taking pen to paper and journaling thoughts for a dear friend to read…?

Autumn is a a season for bringing out cosy knitting and embroidery projects and snuggling up to watch delightful time period movies...

A time for venturing into the garden in search of fresh peas for a hearty meal and a time to sow spring bulbs and flowers…

…Above all, it is a time to thank God for the bounty of summer and the provisions stored in the cupboard and freezer for winter…

Yes...this wonderful season has arrived in all its glory and I delight in its rich beauty!

What do you love most about the season which you are in...?  {{Smiles}}

Blessings, dearest readers!

Sweet friend, Autumn is indeed a wonderful, charming, and beautiful time of the year. When it's Autumn here I love the smell of the fires that keep the home warm, pulling out cozy sweaters and cute boots, piling leaves up and jumping in them with my son, and the list could go on. You are right, letter writing is the perfect thing to enjoy during the Autumn season.

Right now it's Spring in the mountains and I delight in seeing the robins arrive. We have several nests in our yard and it makes my heart sing to see the birds flying around taking care of their "home." The trees are showing new life and the grass is turning a vibrant green....such joy can be found in this sweet beauty.

Thinking of you, dear one. Love and hugs!

I love autumn! It's rare I know someone who is experiencing autumn just as I am about to experience spring/summer, but I suppose autumn is lovely no matter what time of year it comes around. Books are a necessary supply for me during autumn and winter--lots and lots of books. :)

Oh, dear friend! You know me....Autumn is my most favorite season of all! I love the glorious colors, beautiful scents, delightful activities, and the coziness of everything :)

But, Spring is here now, and it's also lovely. Each season is lovely in its own little way, you know ♥ And they each bring their own surprises and blessings. The grass has finally turned green, and the trees are fully alive now with their full leaves, flowers are coming out in their due time, and all is new and fresh.

Oh, how you make me want to come visit you and enjoy some lovely Autumn goodness with you all! Enjoy this season, my friend!

Wishing you a beautiful week, Kelly-Anne! Hope all is well in your home ♥ Much love always!

Oh, dearest Stephanie, it's hard to believe you are in autumn already! My, time just flies by. What a beautiful photo of the tea on the log with the apple. It so reminds me of the wonderful cider with cinnamon sticks. And oh, the fresh apple pies! Yum! And how wonderful when God allows the trees to change color and show more of the beauty He shows us in His handiwork! I know you will enjoy making your beautiful marmalade again. Such a delicious recipe and so beautiful! Enjoy this wonderful season, dear friend, as you await your precious brother! Praying for your dear mom! Hugs and love! xoxo

I love autumn too! The change of seasons from hot summer to refreshing fall, always welcome! We are in spring now. I love the progression of blooms, from the early daffodils to the beginning of the summer blooms. The warmer weather after the cold winter, the renewing rain. Oh! And I love all the nesting birds too. Each season has its own charm but truly autumn and spring are my favorite times of all. Hope your week is going well. Enjoy the autumn!
Hugs,
Cecilia

Yes, I love Autumn and all the lovely things it brings. Pumpkins and cinnamon and golden leaves are such a delight.

We are in Spring time here on the plains of Colorado. It's been warm for a few days and now it's a bit chilly for the remainder of the week. Some of our Spring flowers are in bloom and the fields are starting to turn green. We have planted the inside of our greenhouse, but it's still too cold to plant outside. The birdies are looking for places to build their nests... The days are getting longer and it's been wonderful. In this new season, my hubby and I have decided to run together in the evenings to build up some endurance. I haven't ran in well over 22 years, so it's been interesting to say the least. I only run when something is chasing me. LOL. But, it's good to feel good once I've completed my run to the back of our property.

I hope you are doing well. And you mama is getting closer to having baby brother. I will continue to lift her up in prayer.

Sending hugs, Amy

Hi sweetie, it's hard to think autumn when we are just getting into spring here in the states! Fall is my favorite season, so if only I could, I would live in both parts of the world and have fall 2 times a year! LOL.
Your pix of the baby boy's room are adorable. I keep checking for the big day! Hugs to you and your mom.
Love ya!

What a wonderful article, Kelly-Anne! I love Autumn so much, but right now it is Spring here! My favorite thing about spring is all the beautiful new leaves that the trees are putting on! I really love ever season the Lord blesses us with!
