Concert in the Park...

Yesterday evening Nancy and I played with our string ensemble group in a beautiful park for a small charity concert...

Our string group consists of about thirteen violinists, violists and cellists...  Many of us are still amateurs, and we are truly appreciative of the confidence and support we receive from our wonderful music teacher!

Nancy has been playing violin for about two years now and is currently working towards her grade 5 exam, while my main instrument is the treble recorder, and I too am working towards my grade 5 exam...
I also play cello as I enjoy being part of a string ensemble group!  I am not very experienced, though, but I am hoping to become a little better in the future with many more hours of diligent practice!

Sharing a laugh with a friend...

Almost ready to begin with 'Shalom Chaverin'...

We had such a beautiful setting to play in!
We played under a gazebo - it was a bit of tight squeeze, but  somehow we managed!

Concentrating...

Playing the cello has taught me much about patience, a virtue I am striving to posses more of!
The strings on a cello are hard and often painful, and the sitting position quite awkward, so I have had to persevere and encourage myself along the way...:)

Playing for a small audience, along with other strings, is truly an amazing experience, and I love being able to bless others through the gift of music!

"The hills are alive,
With the sound of music,
With songs they have sung,
For a thousand years.
The hills fill my heart,
With the sound of music,
My heart wants to sing every song it hears."

Maria in The Sound of Music

Do you play any musical instruments?

Blessings on your Monday, sweet friends!

Hello Kelly Anne! Just popping in to catch up on your blog posts. How lovely that you are learning the cello. I wish I posessed some musical talent, but other than loving to sing I'm afraid I do not. I so enjoyed your February post and the photos you included. I am happy to have "met" you last month and look forward to following along your life journey. You are an inspiring young lady. Have a blessed and beautiful day!

Hugs, Vicky

Oh Vicky! You are a very special blog friend and I just love having you visit! Thank you for your lovely words! :)
Singing is so beautiful and I always long to be able to hold a clear note - but I shall leave it to the more experienced and focus on playing the music to accompany the dear singer! :)
Hugs and lots of love to you!

Hello, Kelly-Anne!
What a lovely blog you have! Lush green plants and music...
I play piano and classical guitar, but I think bowed string instruments are the most soulful ones. :)
Thank you for visiting my blog (My Woodland Garden). Happy March!
