A Heart Encouraged

I love how the apostle Paul wrote to encourage us to never become weary in doing good…

“Let us not become weary in doing good…”  Galatians 6:9

He was persecuted and imprisoned, yet he never despaired or wearied in fighting the good fight.

Often my heart becomes weary and I feel discouraged in my walk of faith and the path the Lord has given my feet to tread…

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”  Isaiah 40:31

I am weak and tire easily; my faith wavers and my wings begin to lose their strength to soar…

But I believe my cries do not go unnoticed by my Saviour…  He sees how desperate I am for Him to draw me closer to Himself and restore my ability to see through the rain.

When I feel like I just can’t take one step further, He comes and breathes life into my soul…
…maybe through something I read, other times a song of praise…
Sometimes He sends a fellow sinner redeemed by grace, to reach out and pour water into my thirsty soul!

“I lift my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”  Psalm 121:1-2

It is during times such as these that I long for a light to lead me back to the Path of Life...
I am frail and need the strength of the Lord with every step I take.

“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him.”  James 1:12

And I love how He sends someone – or something - to be His hand, speaking words of hope and life and transforming a discouraged heart into an encouraged one…

~ In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.  Psalm 86:7 ~

This is gorgeous!! And what's interesting is, I got to see the original of this painting by Charles Curran at the Frick Art Museum in Pittsburgh, about 5 months or so ago. It is so much more unbelievable in person. Thanks for reminding me about his work.

My precious friend, you should write a devotional book :) Once again, you have greatly encouraged my heart with these verses from our dear Heavenly Father's Word. I am so thankful we serve a living God who is always there for us - we can call upon His Holy Name at any time.

I am truly grateful for your posts and wisdom, dear Kelly-Anne. Thank you for being YOU! Love and hugs!
