Valentine's Day is swiftly approaching once again, and it just happens to be one of my very favourite events of the year...
I simply adore all things red and pink, and I love hearts of all shapes and sizes...
If you've been reading Beautiful Girlhood for some time, you will more than likely have discovered by now that I don't celebrate Valentine's in the wordly sense...
I am waiting on the Lord to reveal His perfect will for my life, and if that involves a Godly prince somewhere along the way, then I shall be very glad indeed...I want God to write my love story someday, should He see fit...{{smiles}}
~
My lovely sister, Nancy, has been creating these sweet heart cards for the market, using beautiful scrapbook paper and fabric remnants...I thought I would enjoy making a few for my gift box, which I most certainly did!
I love sewing paper as the result is quite striking and oh so simple!
Perhaps you would like to make a few of these lovelies for your stash of cards, dear friends...?
They don't just have to be for Valentine's...they can be for any occasion...I know they would light up the face of a sweet friend!
I used reds and pinks, but you could also use different colours if you'd like and perhaps a different shape in place of a heart - the possibilities are endless indeed!
~ To Make ~
To start, cut brown kraft cardboard to size...I made mine 2.25" x 4.5", then scored and folded them in half to create a little card...
Then cut patterned scrapbook paper or card to size - make your paper a little smaller than the actual card by leaving off a 1/4" or so...
Now cut out a heart template which will fit nicely on your card...trace onto the wrong side of assorted fabric scraps, and cut out carefully.
Use a small piece of double-sided tape to adhere the fabric heart to each piece of patterned scrapbook paper as this makes it easier to sew.
Thread your machine with black cotton and sew all around each heart, being careful to keep the shape intact!
Now secure each piece of patterned scrapbook paper with the fabric heart to the little cards with acid-free scrapbooking glue.
...And there you are!
~
Praying you will have a truly blessed week, lovely readers!

oh my goodness...those are just precious :0) mari
What a lovely, sweet project idea. I must confess that I have a sewing machine that just sits in a very dark cupboard. I have only ever used a sewing machine a couple of times and always put off getting the machine out but this looks like a good beginner project even I could do to practise following lines in a shape :) Thank you for sharing and watch this space xxxxx
Your little cards are so sweet!! Have a great day!!
I've never sewn paper before. What a cool thing to do. Your cards turned out very pretty! I like your idea about a Godly prince. :) Stopping by from Roses of Inspiration.
I LOVE this idea! Me and my daughter will make some today! :)
Kelly-Anne, these cards are lovely! I so appreciate your attitude about Valentine's Day. It's one of my favorite holidays, though I have never celebrated it in the worldly sense either. Growing up, my family always made a point of celebrating Valentine's Day. My father and brothers would wake up early in the morning, prepare breakfast, and decorate our dining room with roses, red hearts, and other beautiful Valentine's Day decorations. Then they would serve all the ladies of the house a delicious breakfast made by them and it was such a sweet time!
Nowadays I still like to celebrate the holiday with family and sweet friends. In my opinion, love is always worth celebrating, and not just the romantic kind, but the love we share as friends, brothers, and sisters.

a vapor in the wind
I've been inspired! Thanks a bunch for sharing. I love Valentine's Day, too! Reds, pinks, and white....oh my! And by btw, I admire your outlook on waiting to see what God has planned. I became a Christian at the age of 27. And while God has used all things, I pray my girls will rest and wait patiently on the Lord when it comes to marriage. Blessings to you, my dear and thanks again :)
These are beautiful! I am going to make some up this week with my daughter. Thank you for sharing this :)
Kelley-Ann...I am in LOVE with these precious valentines! They couldn't be more simple OR lovely! I love your philosophy on Valentines Day...you are one smart cookie and I know that one very special young man is out there, just waiting for the Lord to direct his path...straight towards YOU! Have a great week :)
These cards are just the sweetest, my friend! Nancy has done a delightful job :)
Your view on Valentine's Day is so refreshing, dear Kelly-Anne, and your heart for the Lord is truy a joy. May you continue to serve and love the Lord with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Thank you for being such a precious testimony. Love and hugs to you!
Oh, sweet Kelly-Anne, these cards are absolutely so beautiful and sweet at once! I love the fabric and think they are so sweet sewn on the designer/patterned paper and then adhered to the kraft card stock. What precious cards to use for any occasion. And, sweet friend, I pray that God might bring into your life one day a prince who would love Him as much as you do! Hugs, sweet friend, and much love!
Such delicate and sweet Valentine cards, Kelly-Anne.
When I was young in school, we would each make a Valentine's Day paper bag (a white paper bag that we would draw our names and hearts on). Then each of our classmates would drop a Valentine card in our bag! It was great fun.
Have a blessed week. xo
These are so cute! Anyone would love getting them. Very nice job! (I would never have thought to sew on paper.)
Your cards are so pretty and sweet. I would love to make them but don't sew, so I would have to change the stitches part. Maybe I could hand stitch a few. Thanks for sharing. :) Pam
Oh these are the sweetest things! I think they would make a lovely banner as well! I may do something similar for a bridal shower I am decorating for my niece soon. You are such a wise young lady waiting for God to write your love story. I'm sure He has the perfect young man picked out especially for you and when His timing is right, your paths will cross. Hope your week has been a lovely one so far.
Hugs, Vicky
these are adorable and I love the combo of fabric and scrapbook paper!!
Oh Kelly-Anne, the Valentine cards are simply adorable, and such an easy, cute idea!!! Love, love, love these sweet cards! I also checked out your sweet soaps and how you wrapped and prettied them up.
I so hope that you find your prince someday because you, my dear, have so much to give. Some lucky guy should be so honored to have you come into his life when the time is right. xo
They are just lovely Kelly-Anne!! A card like that would make anyone's day. It made mine seeing yours!! I know you'll meet your prince at the right time (smile) Hugs to you!!
Oh, my! These are just precious, little cards! But, even more precious to behold is your heart for God and His will for your life. I love your attitude in waiting upon Him to send you the man He would have you spend your life with. I can surely say that God's way is truly best, and you will never regret allowing Him to lead! I love the old saying "God gives His best to those who leave the choice to Him." It is so refreshing to see how the light of Jesus' love shines so sweetly through you, dear Kelly-Anne!
I personally LOVE Valentine's Day... I mean it is a great day to celebrate my birthday! And I am blessed to have my hubby to love and cherish and then I have 3 boys that are my treasures... ;)
If you wait upon the Lord, then he will give you the desires of your heart. Great attitude to have in waiting for your prince charming! ♡
Your cards are super cute, I love crafting cards...I might have to pull out my scrapbooking stuff and create some lovelies for my special day of celebration!
Have a great week Kelly-Anne!
Hugs, Amy
Absolutely adorable little cards! I love how the concept of' Valentines' is becoming wider, gentler, more family based, especially amongst those of faith, like you, my friend.
We can surely use a day to say 'I love you' to anyone that we love, not just partners!

Hearts an' hugs!! x

So pretty! Every year, I participate in "Valentines for Vets" and send cards to the vets who live in long-term facilities to thank them for their service to our country.
