Thursday Pearls ~ Welcoming the New Year...

I read these beautiful words this morning in the back of my little book, The Quiet Place by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, which a very dear friend of mine sent to me earlier this year...

I thought I would share them with you this morning for Thursday Pearls as I think they are wonderful to ponder on this day, the last day of 2015...

May Jesus guide you all in this coming year and may you grow closer to Him and become all He created you to be...

O Lord,

I launch my bark on the unknown water of this year,
with thee, O Father as my harbour,
thee, O Son, at my helm,
thee, O Holy Spirit, filling my sails.
Give me thy grace to sanctify me,
thy comforts to cheer,
they wisdom to teach,
thy right hand to guide,
thy counsel to instruct,
thy law to judge,
thy presence to stabilize.
May thy fear be my awe,
thy triumphs my joy.
Length of days does not profit me
except the days are passed in thy presence,
in thy service, to thy glory.
Give me a grace that precedes, follows, guides, sustains, sanctifies, aids every hour,
that I may not be one moment apart from thee,
but may rely on thy Spirit
to supply every thought,
speak in every word,
direct every step,
prosper every work,
build up every mote of faith,
and give me a desire
to show forth thy praise;
testify thy love,
advance thy kingdom.

Amen.

"So let us leave the old year with gratitude to God for its mercies..."

With love and joy in Jesus,

"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil."

Perfect for the occasion, Kelly-Anne and I do put my faith in Him as I start the year, as I know you do.
Would that I had learnt to do that more fully when I was your age, but no matter, time does not matter to our dear Jesus, it what's in our hearts now.
Thanks for all your inspiring writings, my friend.

Such beautiful words here Kelly-Anne and as I read them I am tearing up because that is also the deepest longing of my heart... yet I feel as if I have such a very long way to go to attain these things. You are wise beyond your years. Thank you for being such a shining example to an old (did I just call myself old?) woman such as I. Happy New Year, sweet friend ♥♥♥

Such a beautiful poem to begin the new year with... more of HIM and less of me! May it be so dear Lord! More of your grace, more of your love, more of your mercy... more more of you is my prayer for the year! Appreciate your dear heart and love for the Lord Kelly-Anne, you are such an inspiration and joy to all of us!
