"Our wants and our real needs are not always the same. We want pleasure, plenty, and prosperity - but perhaps we need pain, self-denial, the giving up of things that we greatly prize. We shrink from suffering, from sacrifice, from struggle - perhaps these are the very experiences which will do the most for us, which will bring out in us the best possibilities of our natures, which will fit us for the largest service to God and man."
~ JR Miller

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
~ Romans 5:3-5

May you have a blessed Thursday, dearest friends!
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
~ 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Hello Kelly-Anne!
This is such a good reminder! Such a timely word too!
God is so much bigger than any of our so called worries! He will never leave us. We all go through things that will make us stronger, wiser and more thankful. Happy Days, Sad Days....
I hope you are doing well. I sure have been thinking about you a lot lately.
Praying for your Spring!
Hugs,
Amy
A friend and I were just saying that our lives didn't go as planned, but through the challenges, we learned to depend on our faithful Father God!
Here I am to enjoy such indescribable moments, for my eyes, my heart and my soul, I cannot help but to come and take delight of your pearls, blessed Kelly-Anne !
Thank you with all my heart
Dany
Hi Kelly-Anne, this is an beautiful and important post. My father used to say, "Let's not let our wants become bigger then our needs." As I get older I understand this more and more. If we have all we need with GOD we have it all.
Even with the good, the bad and all in between, knowing we have a loving God to meet our needs through the forming of our character is the truest blessing.
Wishing you a lovely day sweet friend. xo
Oh, dearest Kelly-Anne, this is an especially wonderful Thursday Pearl, and I find it so poignant for me these days! Ah, yes, our wants and needs are rarely ever the same (sadly), but we praise God for the trials and suffering as He continues to make us more and more into the image of Jesus our Savior! So, yes, we strive not to lose heart keeping our eyes (and hearts and desires) on Him! Hugs, sweet friend!
Love this Kelly-Anne! Such a wonderful reminder and good food for thought! I hope your week is going well. I am happy that tomorrow is Friday! I will be posting about the ornament exchange this weekend so keep an eye out!
Hugs, Vicky
Hello again sweet girl! Beautiful Autumn picture and wonderful pearls. I was searching for a favorite old song on YouTube, and I found a most interesting version from Africa, so I thought you and your sisters might enjoy it.
Some people call it: Church in the Wildwood, and some call it Little Brown Church in the Vale should you wish to find other renditions.

I have been enjoying my favorite time of year...fall...with great JOY! I kind of get wrapped up in myself at this time of the year. I love your Thursday Pearls as they make me put on the brakes and think! Thanks again sweet Kelly-Anne.
Good one! <3 ~Lisa
Beautiful post and a great reminder (to me) not to take any thing for granted.
Have a wonderful weekend Kelly-Anne!
All of those words are so beautiful, and true. That is one of my favourite verses, because it reminds me that even when we go through something hard, the outcome will be worth it. And I hold onto that.

Great post today Kelly-Anne! I needed to see that verse to share with someone! :)
Convicting quote Kelly-Anne! Thanks for sharing!
This is such a beautiful post, Kelly-Anne and I love that picture showing so many gorgeous Autumn colors. Have a wonderful weekend. :)
I especially love that part of the last verse you shared where it says that what is seen is temporal, but, what is not seen is eternal. God's Word is so very precious! Happy Friday! Hugs, Camille
Lovely lovely painting but I have been truly blessed reading this post! The Scriptures you have included are so pertinent for us today in our busy lives where people expect, even demand everything!
What a blessing to have visited you today!
Every blessing!
