Revealing...A Finished Project!

Today the chilly winter sun is shining pleasantly on our part of the world...
I made the most of this deliciously fair day by taking some photographs of my most recent sewing project, which I had hoped to share with you last week already...

I received some wonderful guesses from my very dear readers on my post, 'Stitching....', and feel very excited to reveal the finished product!!

...This lovely patchwork tea cosy is in my Hope Chest now, and I am hoping to add a matching little traycloth sometime soon!

A lady at the market recently asked me to make her a tea cosy, and as I enjoyed making hers so much, I decided it would be lovely to make one for myself from the gorgeous fabrics I bought whilst away in April...

I love pink, roses and vintage, so this tea cosy is just right for my collection of pretty tea things!
Quilting is one of my favourite pastimes, as is cross-stitch...
This sweet rose cross-stitch motif was in my work box for sometime, and I was thrilled to discover it and use it in this sewing project...

I simply sewed many little fabric squares together to create this tea cosy, adding a length of beautiful lace to the edge for unique vintage charm...
I then lined the tea cosy with the pink rose fabric and added a little handle...

My Hope Chest is relatively small as yet, but I am hoping to add something new and beautiful more often...
I love handmade items, so I may just sew some more lovelies for my future home, using all my favourite, vintagey fabrics, of course!

Thank you, sweet friends, for your gracious visits!
I truly love to have you stop by, and your comments always bring a big smile to my face!
What joy to be able to share glimpses from our lives with others all around the world...
You all are a beautiful inspiration and blessing to me, and it is a delight knowing you!

~
Do you have a Hope Chest, or did you have one as a young girl?
Do you use a tea cosy, and if so, do you think these patchwork tea cosies would be a delightful addition to Heartmade?

~
Have a blessed and creative week!

Oh, how pretty! I love the rosy tea cosy, and I'm so glad you made it for your hope chest. A tray mat sounds nice, too. Have a great week!

Oh, you made a beautiful tea cozy! I didn't think of that but it is lovely. It will be fun to make some matching things out of this pretty fabric. Maybe even a pot holder if you have small pieces. I had a hope chest and it was nice to collect pretty linens and things for the home. I've never had a tea cozy though. Enjoy your day sweet friend. Hugs, Diane

Kelly-Anne...this is just lovely... I love the fabrics that you chose and it is just oh so vintage! I did have a hope chest of sorts when I was a girl. That is something that unfortunately many young girls have never even heard of. It is so nice to hear the term again and even nicer to know that you have one! I hope you are having a good Tuesday!

This is really pretty and just what I like, instead of just pouring boiling water on a tea bag in a cup !!

I guessed correctly! Your tea cosy is lovely. I loved counted cross stitch when I was younger and made so many projects/gifts. I like the way you incorporated this cross stitched piece into your quilted cosy. Such sweet colors. I did have a hope chest as a young woman and enjoyed adding to it. Thank you for sharing this, Kelly-Anne. By the way, I have a cute tea cosy that reminds me of our late mini dachshund. You know how L O N G dachshunds are? Well, the front of the cosy is the top half of the dog, the back of the cosy is the bottom half! lol

My dear, darling friend, what a charming tea cozy and of course the touch of lace won my heart :) I know I say this all the time, but.....you create some of the most lovely things, sweet Kelly-Anne. And I truly appreciate how your passion for making all things beautiful flows into your blog and onto your blogging friends.

Thank you for sharing this with Roses of Inspiration. Hugs to you, dear one!

So cozy and charming! I have a pink and yellow quilted tea cozy that I absolutely love. It's so pleasant to make a pot of tea on a rainy day and cover it up with that cheerful, bright cozy. But I think that yours is even lovelier!

My goodness! Talent just drips from your fingers... and what a darling project! I just love the idea of a tea cozy! The fabrics you chose, and your cross stitch work are paired beautifully together and you created an amazing piece of work... How exciting to be adding to your hope chest, one piece at a time... I remember how fun it was to have a hope chest. May the Lord continue to bless you in all you do :)

Oh my goodness, Kelly-Anne, what a precious tea cosy!!! I am so glad that you put this away for yourself into your hope chest. The touch of the cross stitch just adds a special charm and it looks so pretty with your teacup.
I also read your post about Rebekah's birthday celebration. What a fabulous party you all created for her. The cake, the food, the decor were just so special for celebrating her. You all are such a loving, wonderful family and it's a blessing to see.

Oh Kelly-Anne,
I love this tea cozy. The vintage prints are so sweet but the cross-stitched rose makes it! So dainty! I must go in search for some fabric like yours....did you purchase it recently?

Oh, precious Kelly-Anne, what a beautiful tea cozy! I love the fabrics you've used and the beautiful cross-stitched square (another thing we share). And what lovely laced edge! What a beautiful gift and also one that you will cherish for the day you yourself will host a tea for your guests! Hugs, sweet friend!
