Delightful Tea Cups, Lace and Posies…

I am not entirely sure where my love for beautiful tea cups first began...

...I think that perhaps it all started when I was a little girl and my mother would serve tea in the sweetest mini pink tea cups at our poetry tea parties.
Since then my fascination for the intricate designs, shapes and details of different tea cups has motivated me to collect them, and now I simply squeal with delight when I spot a beautiful one!

My tea cup collection is still fairly modest, but I take great pleasure in adding a new tea cup whenever I discover one I simply cannot resist, and hopefully with time my collection will grow...

These two beautiful tea cups are so dainty and elegant, and to sip tea from them is pure bliss!
I love the light colours and the pretty little flower sprigs on the inner rim of each cup and plate...

The gold edging finishes each cup off splendidly, and I particularly love the shape of both the tea cup and the plate...

"Drinking a daily cup of tea will surely starve the apothecary."  ~ Chinese Proverb

Sometime ago I was inspired by a lovely young lady to give each of my tea cups very elegant names...
Thus, the above tea cup is called 'Miss Catharine'...

...And this one is lovely 'Miss Emily'...

While a very dear friend of mine was in the city of...Paris a few weeks ago, she discovered a stand at a market selling the most exquisite teas...
Knowing I love tasting different teas, she purchased a bag of rose tea for me...
For her mother, she decided on Forest Berry Tea - what could be more exciting than drinking pink tea, my friends...?

I have yet to try it, but apparently it is quite delicious!

I thought I would show you some gorgeous lace I recently added to my little store of crafty treasures...

I don't use lace too often in my various crafty pursuits, but these beauties caught my eye the minute I saw them and, oh dear!  I simply had to get them!
And I have a few special blog friends who have recently inspired me to love the endless delights of lace!

...Pink anglaise is so beautiful and very versatile!  I also bought a length of blue anglaise and used it on a dress for a Miss Lettice Rabbit the other day...

Today I am working on a fun and simple craft project.  I am making fabric covered tins for pretty stationary storage.  I have also decided to let my sisters join in and decorate their own tins, so I look forward to seeing the end results!
Do stay posted for a craft tutorial coming later this week!

I conclude this post with a picture of the gorgeous posy of snapdragons which are now gracing my sewing room window...look at that striking mixture of colours!

May each of my sweet readers have a very blessed week!

My love of "afternoon tea" goes back to when I was a little girl too and I had a lovely little tea set and played ladies!

Your cups really are sweet Kelly-Anne and you already know I'm a lace lover as well!

This is such a lovely post - it's 'my cup of tea'!

Wishing you a very happy week sweet friend.
Much love

Such a pretty and inspiring post, Kelly-Anne! How sweet are your rosy teacups in different shades of pink. The circle of roses make me think they are holding hands, playing a game in the cups. ;) Gorgeous.
Have a lovely Tuesday!

The teacups are just beautiful Kelly-Anne :0) I have a modest collection myself. For a long time, I began to hoard quite a bit of teacups and saucers, but I realized that I had way too many of them, and began to give them out as gifts to ladies that truly enjoy the pleasure of taking afternoon tea :0) what stayed behind are the ones that make me smile ... have a blessed week dear one :0) mari

Hello, What a lovely teacup, so very pink and rose buds to overflowing!
By the time you marry you will have a lovely collection of them! I go through stages where I use my fancy teacups! In the mornings I still prefer a mug.
I just loved those laces you purchased!

Oh, Kelly-Anne, what delightful treasures and beauty!! Your tea cups are absolutely lovely. And it is always so exciting to add remnants and new trimmings and other things to your craft room- your lace is so beautiful and delicate.

I think my favorite photo is that of your snapdragons. How soft and vibrant they are. God is amazing to make the petals of a flower, something so delicate and femininely beautiful, while also making rugged mountains beautiful and roaring seas- his creations and their contrast amaze me so.

Wishing you a very a blessed weekend!!

Hugs and blessings to you,
Jazzmin

Such pretty, exquisite cups. It's great fun to shop antique and thrift stores for special tea cups. I have a few tea sets that belonged to mother that I treasure.
