Thoughtful Thursday

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."

~ Washington Irving

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  Honour your father and mother - which is the first commandment with a promise - that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on earth."

~ Ephesians 6:1

~ Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.  They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.  Proverbs 1:8-9 ~

Beautiful image, quote, and verse for Mother's Day. And I was unaware that Washington Irving had written or said that given that we have read his stories. Have a wonderful weekend with your mother. xoox Su
