Easter
is such a beautiful time of celebrating and thanksgiving for the Believer…
It
is a time to remember our precious Saviour’s sacrifice on the cross and what He
did for us when He willingly gave Himself up so that we might have eternal life…
He
set us free – wonderfully and amazingly free from all our sin and shame!
What
a blessed thought…what a privilege to know He redeemed us because He loves us
so tenderly and unconditionally!
Jesus
died for you, as He died for everyone – but stop a moment and ponder on this:
Jesus died for you because He
loves you, and you have a special place in His heart because you are His child
and in desperate need of His glorious mercy and grace…
When
I look around me at the piles of chocolate bunnies, eggs and other fancy Easter
treats, it saddens my heart to think of all the dear children on this earth who
do not know the true meaning of Easter – to them it is merely a time for being
frivolous – for having egg hunts and such…
Unfortunately,
many Christian children don’t even understand the full importance of this day!
I
feel it is important that we establish the reason for celebrating before we
enjoy the more wordly pleasures of chocolate, etc…
I
dearly love the Easter story…I always have...
To
think of the pain our Lord suffered for us and what He must have gone through
for our sakes humbles me and brings me to my knees!
Surely
we should centre our thoughts on Him first and foremost…?
As
I have written before, I still enjoy Easter for its candy coated goodies,
Easter egg hunts and so on, but I choose to dwell on Jesus and all that His
blood did for me above everything else…
~
I
did promise you a little while ago I would show you what we did with our
pretty decoupage eggs, and here you are!
This
is the little Easter tree Nancy made for our stall at the market, and also for
us to enjoy at home…
She
covered a tin in book paper and added a length of lace at the top.
Then
she filled the tin with sand and pebbles and placed a twig inside to create a
tree…
Look at the darling little crocheted baskets!
Afterwards she strung a length of mini crochet bunting around the branches to finish it off!
We
then decorated the tree with these gorgeous crochet egg baskets Nancy lovingly
made, and popped a decoupage egg in each one!
Afterwards she strung a length of mini crochet bunting around the branches to finish it off!
Doesn’t
it look pretty?

I
hope you enjoy the many rich delights of Easter, dear friends! Let us strive to keep Christ as the centre of
our Easter celebrations!
Halleluiah,
He is risen!
With
love in Christ,
~ The curtain of the temple was
torn in two from top to bottom. And when
the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he
died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!” Mark 15:38-39
